Book Recommendation: Stay at Risk and Live Forever

I happened upon the book, Stay at Risk and Live Forever: Lessons from a Life of Curiosity, Grit, and Reinvention by Byron Wien and his mentee, Taylor Becker. It was published last November.

Image of the book cover for Stay at Risk and Live Forever. Font is in black and red and there is an outline of a man in black walking on a tightrope.

Wien, who died in 2023 was a financial maverick known for his annual “Ten Surprises” and “Life’s Lessons” Lists.  This book power punches his messages and is a tapestry of his own life experiences, the lessons he learned and the messages he wanted to send.

His 20 Life Lessons are once I strive for. They include Find Your Big Idea (don’t try to be better, try to be different), evolve (think of your life in phases so you do not burn out and stay at risk),  and the hard way is the right way.

Many of these lessons at some level we all know- they way he puts the List of Life Lessons together is magic and inspirational.
